1. Gold Coast, AustraliaGold Coast, Australia
Gold Coast is called surfer's paradise for a reason. Located in the south east part of Queensland, it is notorious for its canal system, the golden sands, the astonishing nature and of course - the incredible waves that make surfers from around the world go there. With more than 35km of coastline, the Gold Coast is the host of the most famous surfer spots such as the Spit, Main Beach, Surfer Paradise, Mermaid beach and many more. If you want to feel the absolute surfing nirvana, to be on the crest of the waves of the Pacific Ocean, visit the Gold Coast and catch some golden waves!


2. Santa Cruz, CaliforniaSanta Cruz, California
Santa Cruz is the place to surf in the United States. The sunny beaches of California in combination with good waves, you don't need more to feel like surfing. Just don't forget that the water in California is not very warm and surfing there requires boardwear. The best places to check are Main Beach, Cowell beach and Streamers Lane where all the surfers go. A less famous place but still extremely suitable for surfing is right between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay where you can enjoy the connection between you and the ocean. 3. Fuerteventura, Spain Fuerteventura, Spain
The second largest of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura offers you surfing right into the Atlantic Ocean. Fuerteventura is the closest island to the African coast and despite its long beautiful coast line and rocky little bays, it is not super popular tourist destination. With its high temperatures all year round, this island is the best place for catching a wave anytime you want. Even though, the best waves are between October and March and the places not-to-be-missed are Harbour Wall, Shooting Gallery, Rocky Point and the Bubble. Merge with Atlantic Ocean through the sunny beaches of Fuerteventura!


4. Kuta Beach, Bali Kuta Beach, Bali
Kuta Beach is the most attractive place for surfing in Bali. Beautiful nature, exotic partying and incredible waves up to 12ft are what Kuta beach can offer you. The ultimate surfing season is from April till November but all year round you can find waves of all range in Kuta Beach. It is a place for beginners as well as for advanced surfers. Even though the place can get a bit crowded it is worth to be shared because if you are lucky you can catch a wave of a lifetime. Most surfers who go there don't want to leave, so there must be something about Kuta Beach!


5. Jeffreys Bay, South Africa Jeffreys Bay, South Africa
One of the Blue flag beaches, Jeffreys Bay is the top place to surf in South Africa. Located in the Eastern Cape, the place is among the five chosen surf destinations to host the Billabong Pro ASP World Tour which can only mean one thing - incredibly good waves. Jeffreys Bay is known for its right hand point breaks and to be sure you won't miss it, visit the Albatross, Kitchen Windows, the Point and the Impossibles. The best time for catching unforgettable waves is between May and September. Face the challenging waves of Jaffreys Bay to be sure you have surfed where the professionals do it!


6. Hossegor, France Hossegor, France
Even though surfing in Europe doesn't sound like the best place for riding waves, Hossegor, France will prove you wrong. Known as the place for beach breaks for several world tours, actually Hossegor hosts the Quicksilver Pro France in September and the Rip Curl Pro in August. Actually the best time for surfing is from June till October but the waves are good all year round. You shouldn't forget your boardwear as the water is pretty cold in Hossegor. Be sure that you will catch amazing waves due to a trench near the coast but be cautious if you aren't very experienced.


7. Mentawai Islands, IndonesiaMentawai Islands, Indonesia
Until recently, the islands of Mentawai were one of the places untouched by modern world. Now, the islands attract many surfers from around the world who can enjoy the incredible waves as well as the well-preserved nature. The islands are accessible only by boat. The waves are good between March and October but the ones not to be missed happen between June and September. Some of the best places to catch unique Indian Ocean waves are Banks Fault, Gilligans Macaronis and Lance's Left and Right. Be there!


8. The North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii The North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii
The North Shore of Oahu, known as the birthplace of surfing is a destination no surfer can miss. If you want to spend unforgettable Christmas holiday, you should visit Oahu between December and January to catch some waves as high as a 7-storage building. Be sure you visit Waimea Bay, Banzai Pipeline and of course Haleiwa. If you want to feel the genuine surfing spirit and to be able to ride waves next to world known professionals, the north shore of Oahu is the right place for you. Hawaii is the place to learn surfing as well as to improve your surfing skills and to experience the surfing adventure of your lifetime!


9. Rincon, Puerto Rico Rincon, Puerto Rico
Right into the rocky coasts of Puerto Rico, a divine place for surfing is hidden - Rincon. Rarely the wind doesn't blow around here which means the waves are always at highest rates. Due to its location many storms and hurricanes also make appearance which attracts the bravest wave-riders from around the world. Imagine those waves and combine it with the Caribbean sense of having good time and some breath-taking nature, and you have Rincon. Good places to start with are Tres Palmas, Sandy beach, Domes and Antonio's. Best time to visit is between November and March but the frequent storms make the summer tempting time for surfing, too.


10. Ericeira, Portugal Ericeira, Portugal
Ericeira is the surfing centre of Portugal. Located just 35km from the capital Lisbon, this resort has a lot to offer for surfers of any skill level. There are many beaches suitable for beginners and there is Coxos break point for the adventurous professionals. Nobody interested in surfing will be disappointed in Ericeira as its beach the Ribeira d'Ilhas is one of the best surfing places in Europe. The city and its beaches are host of many tournaments as it offers good time for surfing almost throughout the whole year. Ericeira can praise itself with more than 300 sunny and perfect for surfing days
