The new electronics feeling—that, I-just-got-this-and-have-to-keep-taking-it-out-and-turning-it-on-even-if-it’s-just-to-touch-it—wore off of Amazon’s latest Kindle faster for me than anything I’ve tested in years. That’s not a bad thing, it just means that the Kindle has matured; despite significant physical changes to the device, this latest e-book reader slotted right into Amazon’s Kindle ecosystem. It’s just thinner, lighter, and cheaper than the other Kindles.

Although it’s still just called Kindle, this is Amazon’s fourth iteration of the e-book reader, and it’s the first major departure from the device’s original design. The latest Kindle ditches the hardware keyboard for an on-screen keyboard and five-way digital pad and a handful of buttons dedicated to key functions. At the same time, it loses a little bit of bezel and weight.

f your current paperback is weighing you down, then it's time to switch over to the Kindle and experience having up to 1,400 books with you all the time on this light, gorgeous e-book reader. If you read half an hour per day, the battery will last up to one month on a single charge. What are you waiting for? You won't find a better deal on an e-reader than the Amazon Kindle Wi-Fi 4th Generation. Get a great deal here.

According to recent rumors, the LG D1L will feature a 4.7-inch LCD display running at a native 1280 x 720 pixel resolution (there will be none of that 3D screen madness that LG has tried – with limited success – to push over the last couple of years). The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 SoC, which makes use of a 1.5GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A15-based CPU – probably the best smartphone CPU currently available. Of course, on top of that impressive hardware, LG D1L will run the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The LG D1L, expected to be released in May 2012, is touted as LTE-compatible, meaning it will probably reach the US and LG’s native South Korea first, while common sense dictates that a 3G HSPA+ version of the D1L will be released in European markets as well, by the end of Q2 2012.
Overall, while the rumored specs for the LG D1L are fairly decent, I’m willing to bet that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will sell many times more units, just out of the inertia of the Galaxy series alone. The D1L will be more like an alternative the HTC One S than a serious threat to the S3.

Previously today, we’ve talked about LG’s plans to develop a “thinking smartphone”, a very interesting endeavor that aims to put the South Korean smartphone manufacturer above local rival Samsung (as well as other major manufacturers around the globe). But, as the thinking smartphone is probably at least a couple of years from entering production, it does make a lot of sense for LG to prepare for a much more imminent threat posed to its already modest sales, namely the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3.

The internals consist of Qualcomm’s MSM8960 Snapdragon processor, 3G and LTE support. This isn’t likely to be a rumour as LG officials have confirmed that they're in fact, working on a project, but that was the most they were willing to comment on. After the poor reception of the LG Optimus 2X, LG needs to put out a solid product to be able to compete with Samsung on the high-end smartphone front.

The LG D1L, as of now has the firepower required to take on the Samsung Galaxy S III. While there are no confirmed details on the SIII, LG seems to be taking the fast dual-core processor route. It’s likely that the D1L will house a 1.5 - 1.7 GHz dual-core processor. HTC recently launched one of the newest generation devices - the One X, which runs a quad-core processor. There are those who believe that the S III will take a similar route. The LG Optimus 2X for its time was priced well, but didn’t do too well as a whole. Come May, and we should have a clear idea of what Samsung and LG bring to the arena..

 Belkin LiveAction
Works with the LiveAction App
It’s easy to record and share your media with the LiveAction App. When you have a pic or clip you want your friends to see, intuitive on-screen controls let you upload your special moments directly onto Facebook or into an email—without having to open another program.

LiveAction can be used alone as your iPhone’s primary camera app.  Or, you can use it solely in conjunction with Belkin LiveAction Camera products

Top Features:

·         Bluetooth-enabled remote shutter control
·         Two distinct buttons for photo and video
·         Detachable camera stand
·         Operational up to 30 ft
·         Intuitive app interface
·         Case-compatible

The LiveAction Camera Remote and LiveAction Camera Grip can be used together or separately, both items retail for $49.99 from the Belkin website, and several other sources. However, both accessories require the use of the free Belkin app. The app, appropriately called LiveAction is available from iTunes and can shoot photo and video, plus sharing capabilities. The app is simple, solid and easy-to-use, admittedly it is a quite limiting to have to use the LiveAction app with the accessories, however if you’re one for shooting in the native camera app and editing your photos in a separate app, this process is not a huge leap.
